Two problems there. One perhaps most important is that gas is now higher in
Mexico than it is here. They have their own problems with the rich wanting
to get richer..
The other is that the Border Patrol is pretty much non discrimnating. Jail
'em all, let somebody who cares sort 'em out.
Two examples...several years ago my best buddy from England..overstaying a
tourist visa to work in El Paso got stopped at a check point. His
girlfriend, a German, convinced the guy she was from Conneticut, but my
friend got two weeks internment and a free trip home to England...that he had
to then pay for, or never get a visa again.
On the other side of the coin, my office managers daughter is a border patrol
in Laredo and she stopped two suspect a while back,asked them for ID in
English, then Spanish, and got a whack in the chops for her trouble.
After subduing and cuffing the pair she tried to find out what their problem
was but couldn't understand a word of what they were saying. Turns out they
were Egyptians sneaking in across the Mexican border!
