Hi Bill,
In California one of the easiest ways of dealing with the solvent cleaner
is to have Safety Kleen do the servicing. They will want to set you up on
a contract to service it like every other month, but you can usually have a
nice talk with the guy and say that you would like to have it done on
demand. When it gets dirty, I'll call you. They are then the disposal
agents and it's a clean deal for you. They even clean out the pan when
they change the solvent.

I just bought another parts washer to replace the previous one that
was rusted out by using an aqueous based cleaning solution.
My initial intention was to use diesel fuel this time, despite the
odor. Stoddard is now somewhat difficult to find here in California,
and even harder to dispose of when dirty.
What is everyone else using....any suggestions as to alternatives to
either diesel or water based cleaners, which I will not use again?
