Doug,

I just got back from week end (auto-X at Marina among other things). Just
let me know about XJ6's location, I can take digital pics of details and send
them via E-mail or post them on my website.

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE MARINA, CA AUTO-X, here is my answer to Dan of
Gilroy who said he heard two Bugeye's were seen flying to the event:

Yup, that would be Rod (white Bugeye) and I on Hecker Pass. We (being early)
had no resistance on the pass and were screwing it on!

The auto cross was great! Well organized, good folks, great course of flat
but rough texture concrete marked with cones AND chaulk lines. There was one
straight that was too long for second gear, but too short for 3rd. Otherwise
a great 2nd gear "punch and point' course. I have never done this, so took
first run easy, then did three in 68 second range. We were in the Vintage PS
(modified). I didn't pay too much attention to classes (which seemed a
little mixed up) cause we were just there to do well against ourselves, see
how it worked and to see how all cars did. Rod has real gummy tires and is a
good driver. He did a 65 sec. lap or two. Best time of day was probably a
Boxer at 58 sec. which a Datsun 510 WAGON! nearly matched at 59. We got in
several "fun laps" later for time but not official. I guess that if you join
the UFO club and go to all events, then there are points toward a class
award. I was just glad to have a place to do this. Apparently each
individual club who sponsors a months event does the course layout. It was
$25 (not $20) and fun laps were $1 ea. Food was very good and reasonable.

There was only one other car in VPS and Rod probably remembers what it was.
They did one other group of three cars with our laps. Not many old cars, and
only a SCCA MGB late after we left. It's a great spectator thing as well.

I just got back from my daughter's in Holister and have not had time to think
about the next one, but will do more as schedule fits. I will probably think
about other tires first.
