Adrian, Go ahead and use the cup type seals. I use them all the time ,
just be sure , if you are using the dual springs, to check for side
clearance. Also I put them on all the valve giudes not just the
intakes.

Subject: 1275 valve stem seals

Hi folks,
There seems to be several variety of valve stem seals. Moss has an
umbrella
style (which is back-ordered), VB has what looks like an O-ring for
all
eight valves and I have found a set that is of the "cup" variety that
fits
over the valve guide and has a small circular spring to help the
rubber of
the seal grip the valve stem.
The head is at the machine shop and I'm anxious to get it done. Is it
OK to
go ahead and use this cup style?
I'm having new bronze guides fitted, specifying a 2 thou clearance,
and plan
on only installing the seals on the intake valves.
Many thanks for any advice.
Adrian.
