Eigth Fuse!? Um...standard midgets only have 4 fuses
in the fuse block.

P.S. The first thing I would do is check and clean all
of the connections and grounds. Make sure you use
Dielectric grease on all connections. It helps avoid
the corrosion bug. After that's done, see what works
and go from there.
