VDO 3 terminal tach

I have a Cockpit Royale style VDO tach I'd like to use. It has 3 terminals
on the back labeled  + , WS1, and ground. What I don't have is a wiring
diagram. Do I just use the hot and ground to the coil or is there another
way this should be hooked up?
