Hi list,

Coming back from collecting a s/h front panel to go on my Sprite I opened the
car up on some nice stretches of dual carriageway. Discovered that even with
a 5 speed in a Sprite (mine anyway) things get noisy at over a 100mph. At
one point I was well pleased to be hauling in a fast moving Miata who had to
move over to let me by. I did wonder why but since a roundabout was just up
ahead figured I was just outbraking all the 'slower' cars. As I was standing
hard on the brake panel it did occur to me that late braking has become so
customary to me that when I intend to brake late I have in fact almost left
it toooo late. Still lesson learnt, still stopped in time and left everyones
rear lights in the distance and listening to the sound waves generated by a
little old 1960s sports car. Oh yeah there was that one guy in the big slick
Peugeot decided to catch me up (I was down to 90 and heading for outskirts of
town traffic system and speed cameras) but he turned left where I went
straight on.
