Patricia,
Are you aware that Alaska and Hawaii are not part of the continental
U.S.? Leave them out and it will make a big difference in stats.

P.S., There is a movement in Alaska to divide the state equally and
make them 2 seperate states , just to make Texas the third largest
state!

Oops, that was the whole US, with territories and all.  With just the
continental US it's a tiny bit less, but not enough to change the
numbers
anywhere but after the decimal point!
