I live in sunny CA so not much chance to practice on ICE. The first time on
ICE this winter will be for real when we go to Tahoe and just wanted some
opinions of ABS on ICE.

I had/have other cars with ABS had have extensive driving and braking
experience with ABS systems, just not on ICE. All of my ICE driving
experience has been in 4x4's with snow tires and no ABS.

To all who responded, my original question pertained to snow and ice but I'm
really only interested in ABS braking on ICE. All ABS systems that I have
experience with warn not to pump the brakes. Pumping the brakes when trying
to stop on ICE can be a major benefit when even the lightest brake pressure
can lock up the brakes.

So the question still is, do you pump ABS brakes when trying to stop on ICE?

Thanks
Larry Miller
