Barry,

The Mazda seems like a good idea to me.  My buddy did one for a grand total 
of about $600 (I have over $3K in my bugeye rear end and don't have disk 
brakes!) 

For a power upgrade, the ratio seems good, the limited slip should be good, 
and you get disks (with emer. brakes that work).  How much better does it get?
