Regardless of advice the others may suggest, the very first thing you
should
do is to straighten a coat hanger and attach a small magnet to it and
run it
down to the bottom of the gas tank to check for rust.  Even the smallest

amount of rust can run through the pump and into the carburetor bowls
thus
causing your car to miss.  I'm speaking from experience, kid.  This is
hard to
believe but it took me 10 years after needless expense and shutting my
car
down in disgust before discovering this simple fact.
If you do find rust don't bother to boil the tank out. Just throw the
damn thing away
and buy a new one for only about $100.  It could save you a whole lot of

aggravation and frustration.
This may not be the cause of your miss and I hope you have a clean tank
but at
least you would have eliminated rust to be the problem.
