Adrian-

Nice car, especially the wheels. What kind
are they? They really contrast beautifully
with the black paint.

My Rivergate engine bright gloss fire engine red with contrasting
aluminum and
black pieces; gorgeous and will show any
leaks in a heartbeat (which is why I picked
gloss red over gloss black!).

Regarding refitting of windshield; I own a
Frogeye but refitting essentially the same.

It took two strong guys to hold the shield
properly down, after windshield/body seal
was warmed with hairdryer for flexibility so it would "fall" correctly
as windshield was pulled back across cowl to fittings,
equally on each side. While two strong
types held the windshield properly in
place, a third, weaker person (me!) screwed the bolts in place.

Doing it one side at a time, we were unable to get the windshield/body
seal
to "fall" and stay in place correctly, to the
extent a water-tight seal could be effected
(which does not mean YOU will have a
problem in this respect. I did but you may
not!).

Funny thing is, a year down the road, I've
now got to renew the window seals, anyway! Should have thought ahead on
this, obviously, and had all done at the
same time! Stupid me! Thought I could
"renew" them with a little hydraulic fluid;
wrong!! :)

Good luck with your machine; if it runs
as good as it looks (or obviously will, once
you are finished) you are home free.

(Just a form of expresson; nothing free
about the job at all, in time or money!!)
