Mike,
Just make sure that you remove the hardtop before attempting to raise the 
softop.

But seriously, Does the hardtop sit or ride on the softop along the back? If 
so, it might add some unnecessary wear to the top in that area.

The other consideration is that leaving the softop in place uses up alot of the 
area behind the seats and you probably can't fit the top boot.
