Don't know if my distributor problems where what you are talking about, but
I will make a short description of what it was doing and you decide. first,
driving along fine, then engine runs erratic, misses, almost dies, no power,
picks back up runs awhile, runs erratic, etc. etc. etc. Did not seem to be
a rhyme or reason. I did notice that every time this started, my tach would
start to jump very erratically. Problem solved when on the third time of
dizzy disassembly I noticed that the ground tab (little copper tab) between
the vac advance plate and the stationary plate was not making good contact
and some time not at all. Just a little bend, one more clean up, Runs like
a top. No misses, no erratic tach, lots more power. I think (don't slam me
for thinking) that everytime the contact was either made or broken, it fired
my dizzy.
