First thnks to all that replied. I ended up using my air grinder to cut a
hole/slot in the drum (where I knew the shoes wouldn't be) and then using a
chisel and the BFH split the drums. Once split they came off easy!
Chuck, they shoes are semi-metalic Bonded ones, so much for your 'theroy'.
Bonding was partialy seperated so that wasn't helping. Drums were not pitted
at all ! Brake adjusters were on full !
Tried the 12-20? pound sledge hammer first and all I managed was to remove a
wheel stud the wrong way :>( ! Had to use the grinder to remove it's remains.
Axles are pulled, ditto for the hubs, and jackpot is draining as I type and
will come out after lunch.
Thanks again for the ideas/suggestions.
