So I'm taking apart the front end of the blue car ('79), trying to
remove the kingpins from the wishbone pans to use them with the new
wishbones I got from Peter C. Got the right one off, good! the left
one is a bit more trouble. Then I look closely. It's pitted around the
lower bushing area. Go back and look closely at the right one. It's
pitted in the upper bushing area. Looks like I need a pair of
kingpins.
The bushings themselves look ok to my inexperienced eye - the grease
grooves are still there. But the little voice inside my head says I
ought to bite the bullet and get new bushings with the kingpins. What
says the list?
BTW, there was a thread on a kingpin bushing reamer for the list last
week. I'm in for $20.
