Which is why we have louvers...
Stapleton's book shows a bunch of ideas
in this respect.

Problem is most guys don't want to"'cut up" their cars in this
respect....and, I do
not blame them.....but......how else when
outside air temps sit in the 80's or 90's and most especially with
"tuned" units.

I have louvers in the bonnet over the
exhaust system and another set in
the left (exhaust side) of the bonnet as
well. These and a thermostadt "blanking
sleeve" really do help as do "coated"
headers.
