What do you mean by "share"?  They do use the >same< lubricant (i.e. 
20W50 in both the Engine and Transmission), but they have seperate 
"sumps".  The Mini (the real one, not the oversize BMW knock-off), on 
the other hand they actually do "share" (one sump feeds both Engine and 
Transaxle).
