Dang Dave, I usuallly agree with you about nearly everything.

In my opinion, and I could be wrong, quantity discounts are simple economics
101.

If I produce a widget for a dollar and make twenty cents profit, and M&P
drygoods can sell 100 a year I make $20.

If I produce the same widget and Wally World can sell 10,000 of them a year,
I can sell them for eighty-five cents and make $500.

Wait, let me think, what should I do?????????????

All of us also have to shoulder some of the blame. If we would pay $1.50 for
all our widgets instead of wanting them for $.97, Wally World and M&P would
all sell at the same price. But, "we cheap". I just got back from buying a
piece of furniture for my daughter. It's a little 3' high jewelry cabinet.
It looks like oak, and all the drawers are lined with velvet and such. I
paid $50 for it at a discount store. I like making furniture, but the wood
alone would have cost me twice as much.

The furture for M&P will lie in service and location. Wally World probably
wont open in Oley, PA and some of us will pay $1.50 for our widgets instead
of driving 30 miles round trip for the $.97 one. It also helps if the folks
and M&P are helpful and courteous.
