Hi Robert,

If you're getting ant "torque steer" from a rear drive car, especially a
Spridget, that isn't what it is but sure feels like it.

Check all of these for looseness or wear in the bushings.

Spring U-Bolts and rubber pads
Front spring eye bolt and bushes
Broken spring center bolt

With a change in car direction from power on to power off, it could come from 
any
or all of the above.  Gear lash??  Interested in some bridges?
