On an old one that my Dad had gotten, the clutch MC was shot, so I used to
start it in gear. Actually used first gear to get it going to do some joy
riding...Had to shut it down every time I had to stop, but
it worked and I had a BLAST!!
This technique also worked when I snapped a clutch cable on an old Mustang.
