I took yesterday off and took bugsy for a 200 mile road trip to Clearlake
CA. Lots of windy roads, dicing with a Boxster, ton of fun. The excuse for
the trip was to check out an obscure wrecking yard up a dirt road on a
hillside near the town of Clearlake.
The finds:
One Datsun 210 with full drive train(auto trans) that might be of interest
to a Morris person for a full power train swap.
Two Datsun 210s with the 5-sp trannies still in them. The owner says he
wants $250 each for them.
His price is high considering one has 191K mi. and the other has 181K miles
on it. If you are desperate to find a 5-sp that will almost certainly need
rebuilding, e-mail me and I will give you his number.
One sh*tfire(who cares?), one TR4 with rollbar (ditto), three Fiat 124s and
two X1/9, one is a "Bertone" all relatively complete.
The one 'find' that got my attention was a Subaru 360 that looked to be
intact. Needs a front windscreen. If I can find a windscreen for it I
might bring it home for a winter in the garage. It will actually fit in
front of the bugeye and still leave room for the Morris on the other side.
Its one TINY car.
16 HP, 66mpg, and can be carried into the lab and stored under my desk.
(slight exaggeration).
