There should be a little metal disc in there. On quality replacement
switches
(switch"i"?) this disc is more "large" and
"heavier", smaller and lighter on the
"cheapos" that don't last.....THUS (and
"therefore", obviously!)....

try for an OEM replacement, if at all
possible. May I respectfully suggest you
replace the "old" rubber brake hoses as
well....? :)
