when i was a child there were ice races up in the poconos on lake naiomi and
lake still water.   they would go out and plow a road racing course on the
ice.  than all difrent classes of sports cars would compete in actual races
by class.  i hear this was popular up in minesota and michigan too as well
as new england states.   those areas i'm not familiar with.  i do however
have a very few pictures  from my brownie box camera (wich  i still own with
it's flash attachment!) of the racing saab's out on course that i took back
in the early 60's.
