Good points Mark.  Most of us sort of forget that we tend to overkill when 
buying things like hoists at the hardware store.  That is if it says 2000# it 
should be okay for 500#.  Luckily, most of this stuff is underrated just so 
the manufacturers are on the safe side, so if you are pessimistic as well it 
usually comes out okay.  But we definitely stay out from under it and get the 
car out ASAP.
