Ok, from my original 1967 Sprite MKIV handbook (not the 67 handbook with
the pollution specs, the 1st (my 1st) Sprite Drivers handbook.
.............................................................

Instruments and switches, page 6
Item #8 just above the oil/water gauge, oil filter warning light
(amber). The warning light indicates the need to change the oil filter
element and engine oil (see page 18)
page 18 says....If the light comes on and continues to glow when the
engine is running, the need for a new oil filter element and change of
oil is indicated; this should be carried out as soon as possible within
a maximum of a further 300 miles (500 km)
If 6,000 miles (10000 km) or 6 months have passed since the last oil and
filter element change, although the warning light has not come on, both
engine oil and filter element must be changed.

I remember my light being red, not amber as the book states.
