hmm a vaccume gauge. that's a nice fuel economy gauge to tell you how far
you have your foot into a car that has perfect car to driver feedback. gee
if you were running a fuel economy event and trying for bes fuel economy the
gauge would report varying degrees of throttle position. now if you have no
nerve endings in that extremity...i guess the gauge might have some use.
it's best function is during timing for optimum vaccume. but then you
gotta look in and go out look in and go out to adjust timing. i'd get a
cheap junk vaccume gauge and use it for under hood timing activities and
otherwise leave the need for aditional gauges alone. it's a car not an
airplane. lol! oil pressure coolant temperature and a gas gauge are all
you need! throw away the tachometer! it stops pulling before it stops
revving. throw away the spedo! if you are frightened then you are going
too fast. he-he-he! and remember the famous italian race driving school
theory" what's-a behind-a you is-a notta important-a"!
some people seem to have this bizarre need for zillions of gauges and
input-input-input. if you are truly spirited in your driving who the heck
has time to watch gauges? although they do look real cool, and keep the on
lookers guesing! sports cars usually make wierd sounds, handle funny or
something wich is either audiable or very physical in their manifestations
of "something's wrong". and many sportscars with no specific reguard to
manufacturer or country of origin are cars that require a degree of constant
attention. checking fluids, tinkering with electricals etc.. during these
times you get to be real intimate with the car. if you do not hear or feel
something wrong...ya gotta see something during these close to the soul
times of auto bonding that sports cars seen to enjoy with their owners? so
what's the need for taking a seat of the pants vehicle and going techno
silly with it? clutter, more stuff to leak or fail to fix later, and
countless dollars spent on "stuff".
keep it simple and easy to live with......
