Chassis number location

Is the chassis number on a Midget (1973 Mk3) stamped anywhere on the
chassis or just on the chassis number plate.
Turns out that local regulations here in Norway require the number to be
stamped on the chassis itself, a (removable/replacable) number plate is
not good enough.
