Um, I had an early 1500 Spit. Bought in April of 73, 1st model of the 
1500. It came with a ZS 1.75. But I did stick a set of 1.25s from a 69 
Spit on them with it's replacement 1296cc engine at 11,000 miles.
Much much better then new :)
But I learned my lesson and went back to Sprites. Much Much better then 
spits.
