There are some really junk Aluminum valve covers that got into the
market over the Winter. I ended up with one in a trade so I do not know
who is selling this part. They were priced @ approx $39.00 and were full
of voids in the Aluminum casting and had a single hole drilled to accept
the hold down hardware.

I just put on an alloy valve cover but have a concern/question. The
cover
has a flat surface unlike stock and when I snug it up the gasket comes a

squishing out. Am I over tightening? Should I just snug it up? It leaked
and
got my nice clean engine filthy! Also, any input on to silicone or not?
TIA, Jim 79 Midget
