My project for the coming weeking is to get the turn signals working on my
'69 Sprite. They've been out, front and rear, for some time, and I've been
making do with arm signals (legal, but you should see the looks I get!)
Anyway, here's the question; the turn signals can be powered either by the
turn signal switch and its flasher, or (this is a '69, remember) by the
hazard warning switch and its own (separate) flasher. If the hazard warning
system is down, can this cause the regular turn signal system to be
inoperative? In other words, does normal turn signal operation go through
the hazard system on its way to the lamps, or are the systems separate up to
the point where they join the actual wiring leading to the lamps? I've been
tracing the wiring diagram (so much fun - not!) ...and frankly, I can't
tell for sure yet, though they seem to be separate. I'm more interested in
just getting back my regular turn signals, and would be happy to ignore the
hazard system for now, unless it must be included in my troubleshooting.

Don't we just love electrical problems? Are they not our most favorite
things?
