Chuck:  I don't profess to be an expert on this, but I don't recall any
perceptible play when I changed my rear bearings on the '69.  I changed mine
because I was chasing down a mysterious noise.  It was easy to do.  I'm not at
all sure that my bearings needed replacing.  I still have the noise, but I 
ignore
it now.
