Turn the key on, it only goes to the right.
Pull the cable marked S (starter)
The letters on the key/headlight knob stand for...
"S" side lights (or parking lights in the US)
H is for headlights
A knob marked W is for wipers,
C for choke
H for Heater
S starter

Now if somebody changed the knobs or switches over the years, you'll 
have to figure it out by trial and error.
