Description
* Install, configure and maintain LAN including servers, internal
ethernet hardware, cabling, etc., external internet connection, firewalls,
local DNS management, local mail management, virus protection, user account
maintenance and performance monitoring.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware problems and make component level
repairs
* Configure and maintain the following operating systems: Red Hat
Linux, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and Solaris.
* Manage database servers running Oracle, and other open source
databases.
* Create scripts to do common tasks in each operating environment
(Microsoft batch scripts, Linux shell scripts, Perl, etc.).
* Create and manage a daily backup of all office data.
* Create product installation procedures for each platform.
* Asset (hardware and software) tracking, management and budgeting.
* Manage vendor relationships.

* Qualifications

* BS degree in Computer Science or an Engineering field.
* Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Network Administrator
performing duties listed above.
* U.S. citizenship required to obtain a security clearance.
* Demonstrated record of continuous professional development.
* Strong verbal and written communications skills.
* Results-oriented, able to meet deadlines.
* Team-oriented.
* Possess strong analytic/problem solving skills.
* IT Security certifications and vendor hardware certifications a
definite plus.
* Experience with higher level programming languages a plus.
