Hi Jacques,

All the wires should be connected in the right places.  Then take a light
wire, ends exposed, hold one end on the power terminal of the battery and
brush lightly the other exposed end against the "F" terminal.  Just light
sparks will do.

That's it!!!  Works the same for positive or negative ground.
