Your engine may be suffering from a mild cause of what is called "dieseling"
or "run on".

This is caused by carbon particles deposits in the head which are hot enough
to ignite any fuel in the cylinder - even after you switched the ignition
off. The question is why are these particles so hot? Cooling problem up to
specs? Ignition too retarded? Wrong spark plugs?
