We really do need to get back down to Texas, but the true end of the earth
is between Oregon & Nevada. If I had not insisted on carrying 10 gallons of
extra gas, our truck would not have made the stretch between Lakeview &
Winnemucca without somebody walking, and it was NOT going to be me. The
second tank on the truck went dry with about 10 miles to go. Actually, Gary
would probably not have walked either. He was driving the Neon. His son
came down the week before Thanksgiving, and now he believes that the way I
wanted to come actually is shorter. Why is it that men never believe women
when it comes to navigation? What should have been a nice, relaxing 10 hour
drive took over 24 hours. I don't think I will ever forgive him for peeling
out from behind me when we arrived in Elko, just in time to expose my
expired horse trailer tags to the deputy.
