Bill,
An easy and effective solution is to contact a racers supply and buy foam
"socks" made for this very purpose.

Heh, heh....

You stuff a sock in it and I guarantee you
the breathing characteristics will be "nil"!!
I don't know what Frank meant by his
remark, Bill. Maybe he was talking
storage or show or something.

Italians can be very weird and
very strange people at times!! <VBG>

Chuck's idea of
"nylon" is an old tried/true method though
fuel "standoff" (if present to any extent)
will eventually "eat" the nylon but replacement is easy so no BD. But
the
small grit will still get through.

Matter of fact, even with a K&N, the use
of "sealing grease" between filter edge
and "can" is highly recommended in
accordance with my experience with a
45DCOE. It's amazing how small grit
finds it's way through the tiniest of
openings. Wouldn't have believed it if I
had not see this myself. Shows up in
the Weber's jets, most especially the
idle jets.

The stock air can system with it's small
air feed tubes is pretty restrictive, but
it most definitely does result in excellent
filtration in terms of clean air to the engine. It's not built for
performance, it's
built with engine longevity in mind.

I like these stacks...very cool!! They
have the nicely softly curved 270
degree openings like TWM's. Good for "best" airflow increase according
to Vizard, Bill.

Happy New Year, mate! :):)
