All my 1500s has big philips head screws. (Come to think of it, probably
actually pozidriv). But I used hex bolts when I reassembled my '77.

hinges are the same. later cars use real hex head bolts early cars use
big 
phillips head "screws" yet the threaded hole in the hinge remains a 
constant.
