You know, that's funny, jf.

'cause I responded with an off list mail
to you stating "You mean like this! :)" in
response to your "on list" suggestion that
I use the "reply" instead of the "reply all"
key. I thought "fair enough" and responded "You mean like this!:)"

Notice the smile after the exclamation
point? I expected you to respond in a
friendly manner ("that's correct,
dummy" or something like that) insofar
as I had responded to your on list
"on list suggestion" in such a manner.

Instead you responded with a post which
read "Bob do not send me any more
unsolicited mail". This did not sound like
a friendly response to a friendly response.

At this point, it occurred to me your
initial suggestion regarding the use of
response keys was intended in other than
a friendly manner and I responded
accordingly but I think you will agree,
in a rather well controlled adult manner,
in that if you had something to say that
was "unfriendly", why do it in front of the
whole world? Why not just "talk" to me
directly?

Be that as it may...another lister suggested the same thing as you, Jay,
earlier this morning. He said it in a
friendly way and I advised him in just
as friendly a manner that I would do so
in future.

Now if I misunderstood your "Bob, do
not send me any more unsolicited mail"
words in terms of percieved "tone", then
I apologize. But otherwise....it is what
it is. :)

In any event, Mark has spoken and he's
the boss. So don't "make me" talk! :)
