Yes...it is. Nobody mentioned it being
AVERAGE.

The operative word is "relative". Stamford
housing costs and senior major
airline pilot salary in '58 were used in this
respect merely as an example, Bob.

In '58, this pilot could buy a nice home
in this area for a little more than one
year's salary. Today, that same house
bought by the same pilot would take
4 years salary.

Point being rise in median income in
and of itself is not necessarily a gauge
of economic healh.
