Chris,

The bonnet release cable is held in place by a bend over tab right next to
where the steering column penetrates.  The cable routes under the steering
column, up next to the frame. About 1/2 way down the frame (just about at
the apex of the hump) there is a metal clip that is screwed to the frame to
hold the cable.
