Bill,
    The 1275 balancer/lower pulley is much heavier and
has a rubber inner piece that helps to dampen
vibrations from the crankshaft while the 948/1098 is 2
piece stamped steel unit.  The 1098 is a much smoother
engine, vibration wise, and really doesn't need the
heavier 1275 unit unless your going to be running it
really hard.  They are interchangable..
