west of England and was all the rage in the 17th century, but origin
details are sketchy. The dance is performed by "ungainly males." They say
it takes a real man to dance with bells on.
I first thought it might have something to do with Morris cars. I remember
doing the Sprite dance the night the wiring caught fire so possibly a
similar thing happened to a Morris owner.
