Along those lines, I recently had occasion to cut up a few NEW (made in UK) 
throttle (actually accelerator) cables for Sprites, and every one was rusty 
inside. I wrote it off to a slow boat passage, but decided to make new ones 
from scratch using a nylon inner liner.
Works slick-er.
