Well....

You COULD take a chance and just throw
in new bearings....but man....the consequences if it doesn't go your way
just ain't worth it IMHO. And IMHO, it
will not be 'cause....

...you got bigger problems. The entire
engine (internally) was (and is) contaminated with metal, after all.

You really have no choice. The crank
goes to the machinist along with the
other stuff to overhaul/rebuild or, you
purchase an overhauled unit from that
Japanese firm that specializes in
overhauled Japanese engines (who's
name obviously, escapes me at the time
of course...but their ads are in Hemmings
and all over the place. And like "Smith" in
the USA, it's a common name "over there").

Of course, if you had plans to build a
tuned 1.8 or replace it with a later
larger motor (compatibility ass-u-me(d),
now's the time?

You can borrow the money (if you need
to) from willy@thompsoncarpentry.com,
with whom you have a passing aquaintance, no doubt. He will lend it to
you interest free. Why you ask??? Well,
read on!

(Don't bother thanking me, Willy, for
sending "the rocketman" your way as
it's your fault he occupies the planet
at this time, to begin with!!:):):)
