Keep after the contractors to make sure that all the little openings are 
closed to help protect against the intrusion of mice. Esp. around the 
garage door, side door(s), electrical and plumbing openings, etc.  They 
will still probably get in, but make it tough for them!

(I'm writing this after having removed a nest from the wheel arch 
reinforcements in the trunk of my '66 Sprite restoration project)
