The contacts distort after a while, most
especially on the back of the bulbs, making for a less than "solid"
contact.

Ass-u-me(ing) there is no rust, corrosion within the bulb holder
itself.....
................. fiddle with the bulb until
it works, then squeeze a little silicone
in there between the bulb and holder
to "hold" the bulb in the "right" position,

This also "seals" the "inside" of the bulb holder from condensation
which over
time causes the internal aforementioned rust/ corrosion of the bulb
holder.

"Works good lasts a long time" :)
