lester i just had a thought wich i had not previously considered with
reguard to yer rear end rattling noise.
loose shocks are a a possibility as are shot shock links (just like saab
model 95 rear shocks!).
but! the rubber bushings wich are at either end of the upper links from
the axle to the body bracket can be deteriorating or the bolts for the
forward mounting bracket may be coming loose also.
another bushing wich can deteriorate and not be seen right away are the
bushings atthe end of the rear springs atthe attaching point for the axle
housing.
any or all of these can lead to some interesting rattling sounds tin
canning through the unitised construction of the tub.

chuck.
drove my bugeye a bit today. it took for ever to warm up 70wt racing oil
before i took it out.
