Spridgeteers,

Test drove a 1973 Triumph GT6 this morning. The owner definition of
"restored to nice driver condition" which meant rebuilt transmission, seats
rehupolstered, and rear axle repaired, with one or two other things such as
adding an oil cooler, does not correspond to my own definition... Exterior
paint was also supposed to be new, but did not look it. Owner puts the value
at $7,500.

Even in excellent condition, I don't think I will consider a GT6 in CA
again - within a few miles driving, it was getting rather hot inside with
windows open, and the temperature outside was barely 60 degrees. Wonder what
it would be like in the height of the summer! The inside is also very
cramped. Performance might have been very good in its day, but that was a
stock car and seemed rather slow - mind you, the other British sports cars I
have (racing Bugeye and street Lotus Seven) have a much better power to
weight ratio, so that "slow" comment might be unfair... I could not get used
to the steering, the car seem to want to "wander around" while going
straight. I suspect there might be a fault with steering/suspension on this
particular car.
